New Year, New Approach

Most natural hair bloggers are taking about new years resolutions, 2013 goals and hair challenges. I've decided not to. I recently wrote a blog post about my dislike of hair challenges and inability to stick to goals. It didn't work for me last year and I can't be bothered thus year. Instead, this year, I'm just going to wing it. I want to keep my hair healthy but I refuse to limit my styling options because of challengers or length goals. If I see a style I like I will try it, if I see an interesting product, ditto. This year, my only limitation will be my own ability ( or lack there of) to actually create styles. Mayonnaise and Avocado Conditioner

Here's a quick and easy protein and moisture deep conditioner. Because of my previous experience with mayonnaise I chose a brand with a neutral smell that would not make me sick (cheapest is definitely not best) and it worked alright. this isn't as intense as a gelatine treatment but it works well for weekly treatments. Ingredients : 1 small jar of mayonnaise 1/2 avocado Directions: Peel avocado and remove pit. Mash avocado then mix all ingredients in a medium-sized bowl with your hands until it's a consistent green color. Smooth into hair. Use shower cap or plastic wrap to seal body heat in. Leave on hair for 20 minutes. For deeper conditioning wrap a hot, damp towel around your head over the plastic, or use a hair dryer set to a low to medium heat setting. Store extra in refrigerator.
